Teen Mom star Mackenzie Mckee appears to be the latest target for cancel culture.
The crosshair was placed on Mackenzie after she had some harsh words for Vice President Kamala Harris.
“It blows my mind that out of all the amazing colored women in this world, that is the one who is making history”
Mackenzie received a tremendous amount of backlash for the comment. She would later apologize for the comments and state that she was “unaware” of any negative connotations associated with the label.
Mackenzie has also stated that MTV didn’t allow her to address the issue on her terms, which meant taking to social media to voice her opinion (which… let’s face it sent her further down the rabbit hole).
Mackenzie has done a few social media videos stressing her innocence and it appears to have only done more damage to her overall reputation, despite apologizing: “Every single day. I do not stand for racism and Never have,”
“I’ve learned so much and every one of us needs to open our eyes. I’m truly sorry for what I once said.”
Most recently, Mackenzie went on a rant about cancel culture in general and how she thinks she’s going to be fired from Teen Mom for the incident involving the Vice President. “When you are a mom… and that child makes one little mistake because they’re human and that’s what humans do, do we let that define everything about them? Do we automatically dismiss all the good they do… and we cancel them?”
“And we cancel them and they are now known for that one mistake they did and we blow that up and focus on that little mistake? No.”
“Why do we dismiss all the mistakes we’ve ever made and just cancel people?”
Mackenzie continued to defend herself on the matter, but the damage is more or less done. She continues to think she’ll be terminated and to be fair a lot of fans believe she should be. Only time will tell about her future with the program.
Mackenzie has been infamous for a couple years and this may be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
