Is Tamar Braxton’s relationship with her husband the new Bobby and Whitney? Well, probably not. But the first thing that comes to mind is the music video for Aaron Hall’s, “All the Places” where the woman in the video who appears to be getting physically abused by a controlling lover who also appears to be her manager (Not exactly the same case for Tamar).
Although there are no cues of abuse, Braxton has filed for divorce due to irreconcilable differences and her husband is indeed her manager and full-time music accompaniment.
Known for being an American T.V. and music star, this is Braxton’s second time filing for divorce. Third times a charm, right? Despite what is stated, this 40-year-old star is “done with her marriage”. One must empathize with her, for the fact being that she does have children with her current husband, although not with her ex-husband.
There’s no denying the honor and prestige that one of her sisters, the infamous, “Toni Braxton” received while in the spotlight. She was known for her number one hits such as “Un-Break My Heart” and “You’re Making Me High” and countless awards whereas Tamar has not exactly had much luck, but maybe one day hopefully she will.
This is not rare though in our country. According to the American Psychological Association, upwards of half of all married adults get divorced at least once in their lifetime. That’s a frightening statistic for a young person growing up in this country who are thinking about a career, family, and possible house sometime relatively soon. And when a child is involved in the mix, we all know how confusing that can make things. Or at least, most of us.
One can only hope that Tamar will find her way. Not only with her love life but with her entertainment career as well. Let’s hope she can stay composed on the basis of the Braxton legacy that has been laid down by her sister Toni.
