The world lost iconic rapper DMX on April 9th at the age of 50.
His cause of death has now been revealed to the public. DMX (Earl Simmons) passed from a cocaine-induced heart attack that caused a lack of blood circulation to his brain.
“It was cardiac arrest for a period of time, so there was no circulation to the brain,” the source said, later explaining that acute cocaine intoxication had “caused this chain of events.”
Immediately following his death, it was believed that the cause of death was a heart attacked from a drug overdose.
A urine analysis concluded the presence of cocaine. Sources claimed that the medical examiner didn’t perform an autopsy, as they had determined the cause of death upon documentation furnished by medical professionals and police.
Twitter took to Simmons passing rather quickly with a couple sources claiming he had died a few days before his initial passing.
On April 2, paramedics were dispatched to revive Simmons. At 10:09 they arrived on the scene and attempted to revive him a minute later. There was a 30-40 minute interval between the arrival of paramedics and Simmons’s arrival to the hospital. It’s stated that his heart had been revived and at one point he had a pulse, however he was already brain dead.
The source stated:
“His death literally happened immediately because the brain was dead,”
“So obviously, there were a number of days where he was on ventilatory support and so forth in the hospital,”
“However, he was diagnosed brain-dead early on … He never woke up from [a] coma.”
At one point it was also rumored that Simmons had passed from either COVID-19 or the COVID-19 Vaccine, both of which were proven as false. Simmons had never contracted the virus nor received the vaccine.
Fans were jolted by his arrival to the hospital and even held a vigil in his honor just before his passing in White Plains New York.
